Turn your Mac into a full blown DJ setup!

As technology continues to improve, computer manufacturers and software developers are making it ever easier for the novice artist to perform and produce professional quality works. With djay’s new Sampler tool, users can create, play and loop sound clips taken directly from one of the two turntables or a microphone. These snippets can be saved for later access or be immediately integrated into the current mix. And using the new Live Microphone feature, users can now speak into the mix or sing to the music, adding echo effects or changing their voice’s pitch in real-time. External microphones and audio-hardware such as USB headphones used for pre-cueing are now automatically detected by djay when connected in and configured accordingly. Mixes can also be recorded or sent over the Bonjour network in real-time for collaborative live mixing. After a mixing session, djay can now export the song history as a playlist to iTunes or save it as a PDF.

Integrating with the user’s iTunes library, djay makes it easy to access all the users music and playlists for finding just the right song within mere seconds. With the manual tap and beat-syncing feature, songs can be adjusted for seamless, professional transitions and a powerful time-stretching algorithm makes it possible to adjust a song’s speed without changing its key. Additional sound transformations include pitch-shifting, reverse playback, equalizing, panning, reverb, echo and Audio Unit effect plug-ins. These transformations can also be combined with the new looping feature, where users can select a particular part of a song to replay continuously. Loop regions and cue points are visually highlighted on djay’s turntable interface.
